Pick-up HOOD

The Renault 4 commonly to other cars of that era, like a BMW E21 or the Jaguar E type, this car has a forward opening hood, unlike most cars nowadays, which open backwards. Apart from being impractical this feature is very safe because the hood can’t suddenly fly upwards and block the drivers view of the road.
But now, the transmission mount breaks which needs to be replaced, which so happens to be right where you cannot reach it, making a short repair a longwinded and potentially paintjob ruining task.
So currently, a new hood opening mechanism is being designed by one of our current members, allowing participants of the rally to quickly get to damaged parts in the front of the car.
